Amahl and the Night Visitors - St John's Smith Square Christmas Festival 2018

As part of the annual St John’s Smith Square Christmas Festival, Keval Shah (piano) joins Tony Kraus (conductor/piano) and a cast of rising stars, including Emma Stannard (mezzo-soprano), to perform the two-piano arrangement of Menotti’s Christmas opera Amahl and the Night Visitors with Bampton Classical Opera.

As part of an ongoing project to perform the complete songs of Hugo Wolf, Keval Shah (piano) presents Hugo Wolf’s complete Italienisches Liederbuch, and is joined by Lorena Paz Nieto (soprano), winner of the 2016 Oxford Lieder Young Artist Platform and a member of the National Opera Studio, and Julien van Mellaerts (baritone), winner of the 2017 Kathleen Ferrier Awards and the Wigmore Hall/Kohn Foundation International Song Competition.

Burgh House Residency - A Hampstead Celebration

Keval is artist-in-residence at Burgh House, Hampstead for the 2018-19 season, and will present three concerts over the course of the year, with a focus on the lives of Hampstead's famous musical residents. For the second concert of the series, Michael Pandya (piano) joins Keval for a recital of music for piano four-hands, including Schubert’s monumental Fantasie in F minor, D.940, a cornerstone of the repertory.

Oxford Lieder Festival - Lord Byron's Grand Tour

Emma Stannard (mezzo-soprano), Malachy Frame (baritone) and Keval Shah (piano) open this year's Oxford Lieder Festival with an exploration of Lord Byron's Grand Tour of Europe. Byron’s Tour did not follow the conventional route, beginning instead in Portugal and ending in Turkey. Today’s event is a musical travel diary, tracing Byron’s fascinating journey in poetry and music, introduced by Byron expert Sir Drummond Bone, with readings and settings of Byron’s own poetry as well as songs from the countries he visited.

Keval Shah (piano) returns to the Lewes Festival of Song for a performance of Hugo Wolf's complete Italienisches Liederbuch, part of an ongoing project to perform Wolf's complete Lieder. Keval will be joined by Lorena Paz Nieto (soprano), winner of the 2016 Oxford Lieder Young Artist Platform and a member of the National Opera Studio, and Julien van Mellaerts (baritone), winner of the 2017 Kathleen Ferrier Awards and the Wigmore Hall/Kohn Foundation International Song Competition.

The performance will be followed by an opportunity to hear the artists 'in conversation' with broadcaster and lecturer Richard Wigmore, as they discuss their approach to Wolf, the Italienisches Liederbuch, and song performance in general.

Omnibus Theatre Recital - 'Women: Songs of Innocence and Experience'

Emma Stannard (mezzo-soprano) and Keval Shah (piano) give a recital at the Omnibus Theatre, to coincide with the theatre's celebration of William Shakespeare. The programme explores portrayals of women in song, including studies of Ophelia and Lady Macbeth by Brahms and Horowitz, as well as songs by Britten, Duparc, Schubert, Schumann, Tchaikovsky and Wolf.

Royal Overseas League Annual Music Competition - Gold Medal Final

After winning the Voice section final of the ROSL Annual Music Competition, Michael Mofidian (bass-baritone) and Keval Shah (piano) now compete alongside the winners of the Wind&Brass, Strings, and Keyboard section finals in the ROSL Gold Medal final. The competition takes place in the newly-refurbished Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank Centre, London.
